REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2UZ-FE FUEL: FUEL SYSTEM: PRECAUTION (2008 Sequoia)

2. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 2UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 2UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

4. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

(a) Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the ventilation valve.

5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY COVER BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 throttle body cover brackets.

6. REMOVE EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP



(a) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.

7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Disconnect the No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assembly 2UZ-FE FUEL: FUEL SYSTEM: PRECAUTION (2008 Sequoia) .

NOTICE:

  • Check for foreign matter in the pipe and around the connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-ring or cause leaks in the seal between the pipe and connector.
  • Do not use any tools to separate the pipe and connector.
  • Do not forcefully bend or twist the nylon tube.
  • Check for foreign matter on the pipe seal surface. Clean if necessary.
  • Put the pipe and connector ends in plastic bags to prevent damage and foreign matter contamination.
  • If the pipe and connector are stuck together, pinch the connector between your fingers and turn it carefully to disconnect it.

8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly 2UZ-FE FUEL: FUEL SYSTEM: PRECAUTION (2008 Sequoia) .

NOTICE:

  • Check for foreign matter in the pipe and around the connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-ring or cause leaks in the seal between the pipe and connector.
  • Do not use any tools to separate the pipe and connector.
  • Do not forcefully bend or twist the nylon tube.
  • Check for foreign matter on the pipe seal surface. Clean if necessary.
  • Put the pipe and connector ends in plastic bags to prevent damage and foreign matter contamination.
  • If the pipe and connector are stuck together, pinch the connector between your fingers and turn it carefully to disconnect it.

9. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE



(a) Disconnect the engine wire clamps from the No. 1 engine hanger and engine wire bracket.

(b) Disconnect the 2 wire clamps on the engine wire from the brackets on the delivery pipe.

10. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Disconnect the fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator.

NOTICE:

Put a cloth or equivalent under the pressure regulator.


(b) Remove the 3 bolts and fuel return pipe from the delivery pipe and intake manifold.

HINT:

Move the fuel return pipe aside to secure more work space.


(c) Remove the bolt, 2 union bolts, 4 gaskets and No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.

(d) Disconnect the 8 injector connectors.

(e) Remove the 4 nuts holding the delivery pipes to the lower intake manifold.

(f) Remove the 2 delivery pipes.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the delivery pipes.

11. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


(a) Remove the 8 injectors from the delivery pipe.

NOTICE:

Do not apply any load to the injector in the horizontal direction.

(b) Remove the O-ring and insulator from each injector.
